James Blake - James Blake

Where to start about the London native James Blake.  I stumbled upon him a couple months ago on a english electronic music blog and fell in love ever since.  He has a unique way of turing the simple into something marvelously complex.  A perfect example of this is in his song "I Never Learnt To Share".  The simple line of "My brother and my sister don't speak to me // But I don't blame them, I don't blame them" is progressively added harmonies. He has a way of implementing dissonance in a good way and because of this he isn't just another electronic artist from England.  His harmony filled lines are backed by a complex set of drum loops and synths resulting in the final "James Blake" sound.  His vocals remind me of gospel / blues sort of feel and evoke emotion throughout the song and album.  This theme progresses throughout his self titled album "James Blake" and results in something beautiful. Enjoy.
